Powerdown Shock Absorber for Volvo FH12/FH13 (Version 3) - Parabolic Steer [Front]
Powerdown Shock Absorber for Volvo FH12/FH13 (Version 3) - Parabolic Steer [Front]
Powerdown shock absorbers for the Volvo FH and FM Series are engineered for Australian long-haul operations where Volvo's air suspension systems run continuously at highway speed under maximum payload. The P809 suits the FH/FM rear 8-bag air suspension - one of the most common heavy-duty air rear ends in Australian B-double operations.
The FH/FM air suspension relies on its shock absorbers to control air spring movement and maintain consistent load distribution across the drive axles. Worn shocks cause excessive air spring travel, uneven tyre loading, and accelerated air spring failure - turning a relatively inexpensive shock replacement into a much more costly air spring replacement if left unaddressed.
- Engineered for Volvo FH/FM rear 8-bag air suspension operating under Australian B-double payloads
- Controls air spring travel - prevents premature air spring failure from excessive movement
- Large bore Supershock platform calibrated for sustained highway speed under maximum payload
- Viton seals for long service life in the hot, dusty environment below the Volvo air suspension
- 360-degree arc-welded end mounts for Volvo's high air-suspension cycle loads
Replacement indicators: Oil on the shock body, air spring bottoming out on road bumps, excessive rear-end bounce or wallow at highway speed, uneven tyre wear across drive axles, or air springs failing prematurely. Inspect every 200,000km.
